Ulla Darni is an internationally acclaimed artist whose work in found in collections belonging to royalty, museums and celebrities throughout the world.
Originally from Denmark, Ms Darni trained and painted with Royal Copenhagen Porcelain. During this time she developed her natural artistic abilities and it was here that her disciplined brush strokes were born.
Following illustrious careers in both the fashion and film industry, Ms Darni was introduced to the world of glass by an antique dealer who commissioned her to paint a floral design on an old Handel lamp. It was then that Ms Darni considered the possibility of creating hand painted lamp shades on bases of her own design.
Since then, Ms Darni's work has been a study in constant expansion, with her preliminary floral bouquets becoming more intricate, her colour palette intensified.
Abstract compositions and intriguing patterns that incorporate aspects of nature and fantasy have come as the result of Ms Darni's creative evolution, which sees each piece being the subject and expression of meditative inspiration.
Inspired by the Creative Muse, and an "expanded bond with the forces" that have accompanied her throughout her career, Ms Darni's imagery and colours inspire and delight all those who view them.
Ulla Darni lives in the quiet of the Catskill Mountains, New York.
